The Green Mountain Brigade is a grassroots organization dedicated to bring Vermont to independence. This goal is being achieved throughout the state at a variety of levels by bringing awareness and taking action. To accomplish this, the Green Mountain Brigade is comprised of several task forces. We focus on Town Meetings, the Legislature, the Internet, College Campuses, Arts and Entertainment, and Public Service. This movement is not just about Vermont. This is the continuing struggle of decentralization against centralization of the world.

Town Meetings

To call on our Vermont state legislature to convene a special session to debate the question of Vermont peaceably seceding from the United States. Take action by visiting FreeVermont.net and downloading the needed petition and forms.

Public Service

We can no longer count on FEMA to take care of Vermont in case of an emergency! The Federal government has overtasked the National Guard in foreign lands. We must be prepared to take care of ourselves. The Green Mountain Brigade will fill this void.

Legislature

It is time for the silent legislators who are in favor of an Independent Vermont to speak out. As the Green Mountain Brigade grows in numbers, and if our current elected leaders do not begin to take a stand, then we will launch a new political party openly committed to the idea of Vermont Independence.

Internet

Use the Internet to promote Vermont Independence through education and improved communication.

College Campus

Tap into the groundswell of interest in secession among Vermont college students.

Arts and Entertainment

Promote Vermont Independence through radical art, music, theater and circus.

Meetings January 6th meeting canceled.

"I love Vermont because of her hills and valleys, her scenery and invigorating climate, but most of all, I love her because of her indomitable people. They are a race of pioneers who almost impoverished themselves for love of others. If ever the spirit of liberty should vanish from the rest of the Union, it could be restored by the generous share held by the people in this brave little State of Vermont." Calvin Coolidge
